FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Where is the meeting point?

Please meet us directly at our office (PRESTIGE EVASION, Rue De Lenn Vihan, Galerie Commerciale Du Miramar, 56640 ARZON – FRANCE) approximately 20 minutes before the tour departs.

What is the minimum age for taking part in the Houat & Hoëdic day trip?

We accept children aged 4 and over on standard tours. For private cruises, we accept younger children as we tailor the programme to your preferences and the other guests on board.

What happens in the event of rain or bad weather?

In the event of bad weather (rain, clouds, showers), we do not cancel the trip. We only cancel the trip if weather conditions become dangerous for sailing (strong gusts, storms, rough seas). We'll do our utmost to reschedule your trip, but if this isn't possible for you, you'll receive a full refund for the trip if you booked via one of our partner sites (GetYourGuide, Check Yeti, Cap Adrénaline, etc.).

Do you need to be able to swim to take part?

No. You'll be provided with PFDs (Personal Floatation Devices). These are lifejackets that inflate automatically should you fall into the water. At the start of the trip, we'll carry out a safety demonstration.

Are there toilets on board?

We do not have toilets on board our boats. However, if you haven't had time to make arrangements before the trip, we do have toilets at our office.

How long does the trip last exactly?

For the Houat & Hoëdic day trip, you'll mainly be on board from 9.30 am until 11.00 am, whilst we drop you off at Hoëdic for the first stop. We'll take you ashore from 1.15 pm to 1.45 pm for your second stopover on Houat. Then we'll take you back on board from 4.45 pm to 5.30 pm for the return journey to Le Crouesty harbour.

What clothing is recommended?

We recommend you bring waterproof or warmer clothing, as it's always colder at sea and the weather can change quickly. If you've forgotten something or there's a sudden change in the weather, we have waterproof jackets available to hire at our office for €5.

Can we bring our rucksack with our picnic?

Yes, of course. You can have a picnic right on Hoëdic, taking care not to leave any rubbish behind or in the bins on the island. However, there are also restaurants on the island which you can book in advance (high demand during the season).

Do you go fast?

Yes, we do some high-speed runs once we've left the harbour at the start of the trip, and also at the end before returning to the harbour, to combine thrills with exploration! During the crossing, we'll go at varying speeds depending on sea conditions. We adjust our speed and course for your comfort and safety.

Does it hurt your back?

Not at all. We've designed our boats to offer you the best possible experience. Firstly, we have suspension seats that significantly reduce the impact of the waves and protect your back. Secondly, our two Black Max Searib's sister ships are the RIBs used by the Portuguese special forces; these RIBs handle the sea extremely well thanks to the shape of their hulls. Nevertheless, we do advise against this activity for pregnant women or people suffering from back pain.
